That number has a nice ring to it. Happy day to you both. I hope that you were able to go out and have a nice Anniversary dinner or was it a picnic in a secluded mountain meadow somewhere? I’m glad that we are able to communicate. This Blog is great. Thanks Tom for setting us all up on it. I’m dying to see your pics from your new camera. The wide angle shot at Horseshoe Bay was sepectacular.
Hi Eileen,
We made it to Banff tonight and booked a loft suite on the main street. We just finished a great meal in the resturant and I noticed this open terminal in the lobby. Martha and Laura are scoping out the pool and hot tub area for a dip later on tonight. We got some nice pictures at Lake Morrain and we even got a chance to canoe across the lake. We won’t be able to post any pictures until we get to Ian’s. Too bad you didn’t get a plane ticket at the last minute and join us.
Wow what a day! We went through the Rogers Pass this morning an ooh ahhed at the majestic pinacles. What an engineering feat! We drove though Yoho National Park and into Jasper Park where we hiked some pretty trails to the Bow summit to overlook Peyto Lake. I have never seen such a beautiful peacock blue lake in all my life. The sun was beginning to go down over Bow Lake and we were again in ahhhh! Next on the stop was Lake Louise. The smoke from fires on Highway 93 south were heavy but we managed to enjoy an alpine serinade on the big horn. Before we headed for Banff we stopped at our beloved Morraine Lake. What a breathtaking sight. Somehow I convinced Tom and Laura to rent a canoe for an hour and we were like the three stooges not ever getting nsyc. We managing to stay out of photographer’s range. We saw the peaks and glacier from a different vantage point and were cautious not to tip. Now in Banff we are at the Banff International on Banff Ave. What a lovely spot. Tom got us a loft suite and what a place it is! We had supper at the main dining room – seafood linguine for me, teriaki beef stirfry for Laura and an Alberta grade A steak for Tom. We topped it off with cheesecake, icecream, strawberries and coffee. The litre of Mission Hill Merlot is helping to make me write so much so I will sign off. Night, night love Martha
