Happy Thanksgiving Weekend

What a gorgeous Thanksgiving weekend we are experiencing here in southwestern Ontario. Jaclyn is home for the weekend to enjoy turkey and pumpkin pie and John and Rosemary made it down too!

Jackie arrived home on Saturday afternoon and Tom and Laura met her at the Via Train station. They brought her home to inspect all the changes we are doing to the yard. Little does she know we have plans for her to help clean the basement and toss stuff into the dumpster. The roofers have done a great job and finished up late Saturday evening hoping to beat any rain that was predicted. Now on to the next project!
I went to Bettejo and Jamie’s wedding in the afternoon. It was a storybook wedding right down to the celo player. I went to visit with Irene and took her in some pumpkin squares. She is still on a soft diet. I also got a chance to visit with John and Rosemary while they were down for a short time.
Saturday night Tom and I went to the most beautiful wedding reception we have been to in a long time. It was held in the french commmunity of Grande Point. It was a down-home harvest theme with pumpkins, shocks of corn and bails of straw. The meal was delicious, the speeches endearing and the music dancable. We stayed alittle after midnight and headed home in the balmy night.
Laura and I cooked a 14 lb turkey this morning with all the fixings. We set the table and ate at 4pm. Jackie’s friend, Josh joined us. The turkey was cooked upside down and boy was it succulent. We topped the meal off with pumpkin and apple pie.
Hope eveyone has a terrific and tasteful Thanksgiving.

  1. Sorry to have missed Jaclyn – always thinking about you Jackie. But it was good to talk to Rosemary and Mom on Saturday. Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. We did here – had a chicken not a turkey, and had lots of fun. Carlo brought over a MOUNTAIN of wild mushrooms, so we had a delicious wild mushroom soup spiced up with Mexican hot sauce – mmmmmm – and no, no one had beautiful halucinations.
P.S. I didn’t realize there were several Oct 11 birthdays. Happy birthday to all.
     Catherine
