Dirty Don’s Oysters and Margaritas

We hopped on the bus around 4pm so we could catch all the happy hour specials up and down the strip. We ended up at a place on 21st called Dirty Don’s Oyster Bar and proceeded to consume a pitcher of lime Margaritas, 1½ dozen raw oysters, 1½ dozen hot wings, ½ dozen jumbo shrimp, and an order of chicken planks. They even gave me a free t-shirt! By the time I got out of there my lips were burning and my speech was slightly slurred. We had a great time and then decided to cross the street and try our hand at mini-golf. I think Tom and I played our best game ever and Laura was ticked she couldn’t beat her inebriated parents.

  1. It looks great from up here. Have good times – and maybe send some Margarita vibes northward – not for the taste but for the heat, the sun and the sound of water that isn’t frozen.

P.S. I’m so glad that you send little news blurbs.

  2. Your holiday sounds wonderful. Is the place crawling with march break college kids and biker crowds?

  3. Myrtle Beach has grown a lot since the last time we were here. They have a new mega shopping mall, the biggest in South Carolina called the Grand Strand. We will hit there one day when the weather is not so good. They have a different concept of drawing and containing tourists away from the beach and their hotels in the form of Barefoot Landing and Broadway By the Beach. Theatres, hotels, restaurants, shops, nightclubs and children’s entertainment all on boardwalks around a manmade lagoon. I must say the bus system is very efficient up and down the beach and to the many attractions. All for a buck each way!
As for bikini clan teens all we have seen on the beach are families and middle aged snow birds. We have seen and heard a few bikes go by though. Their bike week is in April.
