We arrived about an hour late on Saturday due to de-icing hold-ups at Detroit Metro Airport but we managed to get settled in by 3:30pm. The condo is very nice, right on the beach, and well appointed for our stay. It’s like staying at someone’s house, everything is right at hand.
After a quick unpack we jumped on the trolley and went down to the Smokin’ Oyster Brewery near the Times Square area. We loved this placed during our Xmas 2004 visit to FMB and we are happy to announce it’s just as good now. To set the holiday mood, we started with a dozen raw oysters and a couple cold Coronas. The place was hopping with March break revelers and the combination of balmy temps and good music was hypnotic for us pasty white Canadian travelers. We decided to give into the warm buzz of our drinks and stay longer for a dinner feast of Blackened Grouper. Best fish dinner we have ever had!
Back on the trolley and stopped at the nearby grocery store for some staples for the week. The evening cooled down dramatically, so back to the condo. I had some problems with Internet access (now fixed by our host) so we ended up watching TV and crashing by midnight.
A Few Condo Pictures:
hey we are just finished digging ourselves out here in Mississauga. The thought of you guys on the beach made it that much harder. Your place looks lovely and I know that you will settle in nicely. I can tell the soup diet did its thing and you look fabulous Martha. Enjoy walking on the beach and shelling on your much need March break.
What a nice place! Did you have a special section of the beach cordoened off so that Martha would be in the pic by herself?
We got blasted again Friday evening until Saturday evening! John had to use the tractor instead of the snowblower.
What soup diet??
Have a wonderful time!!
Lynda we have our beach front mostly to ourselves. If you go down 4 blocks towards Town Square it’s wall to wall bodies. The Soup diet was Oprah’s plus a whisper of photoshop.
