  1. Hey, you guys flew the coup just in time to miss the deep freeze enveloping the north east. Go south sis, go south as far as you can go!!!

  2. We didn’t leave home till around 2pm. Tom got the driveway plowed out for the last time and finished some business in town. It was very snowy and slippery until we hit Windsor. Good travel after crossing the border and we stopped for supper at the Olive Garden in Lima. The server claimed big snow coming, so we drove further south and stopped for the night in Dry Ridge, KY. Our destination plan for Wedn night is somewhere around Macon, GA

  3. Hi from Kentucky
We had a good day of driving today with not too much traffic and bad weather. The worst stretch was going down the Mull Side Road and on Maynard Line to 40 Highway. The 401 was slippery with tons of crazy traffic.. We got into Windsor and Tom said we had to have a signed receipt to prove what day we were in Canada before our departure date. It is for out of country insurance. We went into the duty free shop, got a couple bottles of booze, paid by credit card and then we were on our way. The border was a breeze. We were worried they would tear the truck and bike a part but it wnt without a hitch.
Michigan roads were fun as dad tested his driving skills dodging pot holes. Not too many cars or trucks so that was good. Lots of cops and salt trucks as the roads were dicey icey.. Yeah into Ohio and the roads dramatically became smooth. We stopped for supper at 7 in Lima Ohio at the Olive Garden thinking perhaps a nice glass of wine with our meal and settle into the Holiday Inn But the waiter told us that there was a weather advisory, the temps were to dip colder and that there was a snow storm on the way. We decided to aim for Dayton. The traffic was next to nill so we went over the Kentucky border and past Florence to a place called Dry Ridge. The GPS came in handy picking the exit with the Holiday Inn Express. Big 8 hrs drive ahead and looking outside it is cold but we did not get the snow they were talking about.

Hope you are all keeping warm in this deep freeze. We watched the temp gage go from -11 to -6 yes we are heading south.
