Well it seems everyone has survived the holiday period (so far). Nick, Eileen and family are on route back home and here’s hoping they make it to their doctor appointments on time. No… no one was in critical condition; just nagging cold/flu symptoms. It didn’t seem to dampen their spirits much, but they had chills, coughs, and heavy chests. It always seems to happen just before a planned trip doesn’t it? …continued
We set up the travel trailer for child overflow sleeping accommodations but when we went to start the furnace… no heat! No amount of jiggling, knob turning, blowing, sparking etc would allow the propane furnace to light (hey it *might* have worked, stop laughing). Plan two called for multiple electric heaters and two power lines to the trailer. Success! Video games, lights, fridge, etc all worked without popping breakers and held the temp above 20C.
The food over the last few days was plentiful and delicious. Thanks goes out to Martha (and all helpers)for the meals, festive decorations, and photo work. We married true multitaskers, eh Nick?
Christmas morning was an exercise in over-indulgence. We all seemed satisfied after exploring our christmas stockings but there was still a tree with a multitude of presents stuffed underneath. Too much stuff IMHO but I’m sure the younger set would disagree :)
This morning in preparation for departure Nick takes the bags out to the van to find… a flat tire on the back! We quickly filled it with air and drove to Chatham to get it patched and return in time (?) to leave for their afternoon appointment in Mississauga with their family doctor. Good luck guys and thanks for the company. Come again if you dare :) A few Christmas pictures can be found in the family photo album.
