Off to Sars-stock – Toronto Benefit Concert

Sars-stock (1k image)Martha and Laura ventured up the 401 today to rendezvous with Jackie to attend the Toronto/Sars Rolling Stones Concert. They are young at heart and burning for adventure. Martha will have the time of her life at the rock concert of the century. This will also be Laura’s first. Jackie of course is an old pro at attending this kind of venue. Auntie Eileen chickened out and will be sitting back in the comfort of her basement watching the events unfold on TV. The crowds (430,000 expected) had something to do about her decision to forgo this invite. They are also expected to walk 2hrs to get to the park and again another 2hrs walk and agonizing hours to get home again. Good Luck Gillier Girls.

  2. Thanks Eileen for your write up. Jackie, Laura and I had a GREAT time at the concert. The line up to get in took less than 1/2 hour and we claimed our little bit of Downsview turf with our towels. The afternoon was very hot but we were prepared with 30+ sunscreen. We took in the music and downed our share of bottled water. The crowds were unbelievable but at no time did we feel worried. We decided to leave around 11:20pm when the masses started moving for the exit gates. The subways were well policed and we even got a seat for the ride home. We were back safely in Jackie’s apartment by 1am. Truly a highlight for the year!
