Greetings from Fairbanks, Alaska from Jean and Bill.
We arrived in Fairbanks yesterday at 7:45 local time. Of course Jean and I are trying to adjust to the 4 hour time zone difference. This morning at about 5 am here (9am Kentucky time) I was ready to roll out and start the day. It was a good thing that Rhett was pulling a 7a-7p shift at the hospital and he was about ready to start getting ready to head out for the day and I was not the only early riser. Before long everyone was up checking out a part of Sunday morning that they were not normally used to seeing.
Our flight here involved about 8 hours in the air with one change in Minneapolis – St. Paul. We had the joy of getting from concourse A to concourse F and it was a long haul. We had about 2 hours layover there and headed out for Fairbanks. The remaining 2400 miles were completed in 5 hrs and 15 minutes. (No Tom, I don’t believe you could have made it faster in the Vet)
We are having a great time visiting with our 5 1/2 day old grandaughter and family. Just to think that when we leave next Saturday she will be over twice as old as she was when we arrived.
I am taking a lot of pics and will start posting some today. Rhett and Teresa have 10 meg ADSL connection and this should be a snap.
We are looking forward to checking out a part of the world we have never before seen and I’m sure you’ll be hearing more from me before the week is out.
Bill
Greetings to all staying at the Robinson household. Thanks for the post and we’re waiting to see all those great pictures from up there. No danger of me trying that trip with the vette Bill… I’ve heard the roads in Alaska during summer construction require ground clearance measured in feet not inches.
Enjoy that brand-new Granddaughter! Irene was here earlier today and she couldn’t get over the size of Rylyn. It took her over an hour to type up her comment to Teresa and Rhett that she posted today in the Labour on Labour Day thread. Love to all… Tom
Hhmm? How far to drive for a quick trip from Chatham??

What a beautiful little baby. Looks like everybody is well and healthy. Thanks so much for the pictures and the connection. Hi Rylyn.
Hi Little Rylyn, You are sooo very cute! Prayers of joy to celebrate your arrival. Glad to see you are all having a lovely get aquainted hugs and cuddles time with your proud Grandparents.
To Jean and Bill: You must be feeling very proud and for good reason too. May that lovable new grandchild be a special joy to you.
Wow, the scenery around Fairbanks looks lovely and rugged. Rylyn looks very content to go along for the ride with Papa and Nana.
Yikes, I wouldn’t like to come across that giant Kodiak along a river bank!
