For the past two days we have been snowed in. The boys are home for the week as it is exam time at their high school. They are helping me with the snow clearing. The roads in our neighbourhood are terrible and there are cars and big trucks in the ditches. I am staying put until the plough comes along. Nick’s Volvo loves these conditions but my van slides all over the place, even with new all-weather tires on. Martha you keep an eye on the weather forecasts for the weekend. You may want to think about not venturing out on the highway if the winter snow continues. Good News… our house is toasty warm through all this deep freeze.
Whoa, are we tired of winter yet or what! Laura just measured 37cm of snow outside. I Think Mississauga has a lot more! I checked the temp and it is -3. 0h I guess I better not complain too much because it is -30 in Calgary Burrrrrrrrrrr!
Yesterday the buses did not run due to drifting snow, slippery roads and high winds. I found the roads going to and from Chatham horribly icy. The high schools postponed their exams till Thursday giving Laura one more day to study her Math and Science.
I woke up this morning to hear on the radio “schools closed / no buses running”, Yippee and quickly jumped back into bed till 9ish :>) There was pelting ice pellets and snow sqawls all day long. Tom finally got my car out off of the snow drift in the driveway this afternoon. As for heading up the 401 on Sat to visit with Ian, I will have to wait and see how the week plays out.
All this snow talk has reminded me of an old link I had called “Peeing in the Snow”. This web page is written in flash and allows you ladies to experience a man’s bonus snow day activity. No co-authoring with your hubby required on cold snowy days. [Well ladies could do it solo, but the font would have a broad stroke. (pun intended)
