Yeah, the long awaited 2-4 weekend :>)
Yesterday, Jean and Bill arrived shortly after 4 p.m. for their yearly visit to Canada. They made good time inspite of dark skies, a torrential downpour and hail. What a home coming!
Wouldn’t you know it our power went out and we discovered we were out of propane. We enjoyed catching up on family, kids and grandkids. It was great to see all the baby pictures of Rylyn and Madison and Madison’s 1st birthday pictures. She sure enjoyed her Winni the Pooh cake.
We introduced Jean and Bill to their first extra spicy Caesars. Jean decided she would stick to her Smirf coolers. Tom and Bill had a run to town for to fill the tanks and by the time they came back, the power was restored around 7:30. We BBQed and feasted on chicken breasts at 8. No one semed to matter or care and we had a great time together. Tom and Bill retreated to the deck for a Robusto.
It is just raining and raining here. It is a typical Vancouver damp day. The boys are all busy umpiring, working or playing at a tournament. I stopped doing laundry to go down to St Michaels cathedral for 12:00 mass with Cecile. We then dodged the raindrops and walked over to Marche’s for lunch and lattes. We took in the afternoon performance of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons at the Hummingbird Center. It was Sexy Rexy’s last curtain call. The ballet was magnificent as was the grande finale.
