Yesterday Tom and I were sitting on the deck sipping our coffee and enjoying the soft rain on the newly planted soybeans when Tom says, “Did you hear that”? I said “What?” Tom responds, ” I think it is the Bowen ferry!” We both fondly laughed knowing that both our hearts occasionally find their way out west. Little did we know that June 10th was Teeny’s official 82nd birthday.

We phoned the cottage to find George and Louise there doing the yearly yard clean up, grass cutting and eve trough cleaning before Teeny arrives. We were informed that Teeny may not be going up until later in the summer due to a reoccurrence of her neuralgia and gamma surgery this week.
We phoned LaCanada and sang the birthday jingle to Auntie Teeny and wished her all our best wishes. I even got a chance to talk to cousin Laura.
Hopefully the Doctor will give her the green light and she can sit on her patio and enjoy the sea air and sound of the Bowen Queen.
