Today after church, with Laura, Jenny as navigators we set off on a quest to find LaSalle to visit their famous Strawberry Festival. With only a few detours (lunch at Applebee’s and shopping at Windsor Crossing)we found ourselves in beautiful Amhurstburg and decided to follow the Detroit River to Gil Maure Park.
Today was family day so admission was free. It was more like a Faire than a Festival with hundreds of tented vendors, food booths and carnival rides. The highlight was Clifford the Big Red Dog. As for Strawberries the only ones we saw were ones that looked more like jam in the 33 degree celcius temperatures.
After one hour of being in the sun and riding the Ferris Wheel, Polar Express and Cyclone we decided to head to the air conditioned Devonshire Mall for last minute powershopping.
Now we are home and enjoying the evening sun on the back deck talking to the pond fish.
Was the park the old Boblo property?
