This morning we woke up early and enjoyed the sunrise over the Atlantic. There were all kinds of birds out looking for their breakfast. Pelicans galore making sorties of the canal and a giant white egret owned our dock. He did not seem to mind us getting up close. I think we will call him Edgar.

Tom and I went for a bicycle ride this morning. We had not traveled too far when a wonderful smell in the air caught our attention. We followed our noses and it led us to the Key Colony Inn‘s Sunday brunch buffet. There was no discussion over this one. We parked our bikes and went in to find a lovely spread. Needless to say we sampled everything. We got back on our bikes and checked out the Cabana Club. There is a lovely pool, hot tub and white sandy beach. This will be a daily hang out.

This afternoon we headed into Marathon to do some grocery shopping. It is a quaint little village with dive shops, t-shirt shops and many bars and cafes that we will certainly check out while we are here.

At the end of our street there is a lovely little park where it seems the locals all congregate at dusk to watch the sunset. This evening there were a few clouds in the sky which created lovely pinks and purples. It was really pretty.
