Voice recognition software is working

I can’t believe how well this program is working. I purchased a program called Dragon Naturally Speaking 7 and after a little initial training it seems to be working quite well. This is much faster than my “hunt and peck” method of typing and as an added bonus the spelling is always correct. It does take a little getting used to navigating pages by spoken commands. When I get a little more experience I will report back on my findings.

  1. Tom…is this an april fools gag? Are you telling me that your new name is “Q” from James Bond? You mean that you can just talk to the computer and it recognizes your voice?
We woke up to a winter wonderland outside with the trees and ground covered in snow. Big fat snow flakes floating down at 7am when we flew to our windows to see our April Fools joke. Not!!!!

  2. No Eileen this is not an April Fools gag. It takes a little while, but once you have it trained, it seems to work quite well. This is still my first day so I have a lot to learn yet, but I have high hopes for this program. There’s no way in heck, I could ever type 160 words per minute, but this program has that ability. For more information do a Google search on Dragon Naturally Speaking.

  3. Looking forward to learning the tech. Some Epinions’s say the learning curve is large…in my case maybe not do-able lol. btw…the $75. monitor seems to be a good investment so far! (not all purchasers had the same luck)

  4. Don’t worry about the learning curve John. I know your capacity to learn is ENORMOUS. Check your mailbox on Wednesday.
     Congratulations on the cheap monitor.
