It is hard to believe this summer will soon be over and everyone will be getting back to their old routines. This week the weather has been hot and humid – perfect for night cruising with the top down.
On Wednesday Laura and two friends went on a bus trip to Canada’s Wonderland in Toronto. They loved the waterpark and wave pool area the best. The lineups for the super rollercoasters were +1hrs long but they managed to go on a few. They loved the freedom of being on their own for the first time and had a great time.
Last night Tom and I took the Vette on the ferry over to Michigan. We were given complimentary tickets to the DTE Energy Music Theatre to see Bryan Adams. I still can’t believe Tom agreed to go. We found a good spot and spread our blanket on the grassy hillside section. It was a warm 27?C evening and we quite enjoyed sipping beer and laying under the stars with Mars in full view listening to the tunes. Bryan sang all his greats like: Heaven; It’s Only Love; Straight From The Heart; Have You Ever Loved A Woman; and Everything I Do, I Do For You.
I have been into the school during the past few days, getting my Grade 3 classroom and curriculum set up. Laura has been a big help putting up bulletin boards and counting textbooks.
I tip my glass of Mike’s Hard Lemonade as I say goodbye to summer and face reality for another school year. I hope everyone enjoys their last summer time holiday weekend!
One more sleep-in till school starts!
Oh Laura! You had the picture perfect day to come up to Wonderland. I hope that the park was not too crowded for you as the CNE-EX was on. By the sounds of it you had a fabulous summer for a 14yr old. Have a happy time riding the yellow school bus on Tuesday or will your Dad drive you into town in the Vet with the top down?
Hey Auntie Eileen, I am 15 now! Yes it was a wonderful day at Wonderland but the rides were busy as heck. I will ride the school bus as I nornally do. I do not need my dad to drive me in ;)besides I want to see all my friends. Good luck to Brian and Peter on their first day of High School. Tell Steve that he smells.
