Today they started on the courtyard and sidewalk construction Martha and I wanted done this fall. They are digging up parts of the cement driveway and entrance today, then re-grading and forming up for a small courtyard out front with a sweeping bow shaped sidewalk down the west side of the house. This is Stage 1 of our landscaping project that should have started 20+ years ago. We also have to replace the windows on the west side of the garage. I’ll post some pictures as they progress here.

Did they do all that in one day? Why didn’t you do this all by yourself? I like the looks of it so far.
It should be interesting to see what Martha thinks when she gets home in a few minutes. She left this morning without knowing what exactly was being done. I had to hire people because if I did it all myself, the job would always be second guessed by my boss.
You guys made me screech today. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I read the blog. What a wonderful surprise. It will look great and it looks like it will take no time at all to complete. Get out those lawn chairs and shake up the Margaritas for a patio party at the Gilliers.
