Enhancement Success

This morning,Tom drove me down to the TLC Laser Eye Centre to under go an enhancement to my left eye. The procedure was painless and took all of 13 seconds. It is again a miracle to be able to see clearly! rolls eyes

We arrived at 9 am and Dr Bell concurred with Dr McCabe my 20/50 vision needed the tweaking. An Ativan was placed under my tongue, numbing drops placed on my eyeball and lids and I was beginning to relax somewhat. I was called into the OR and I sat in an examining chair and asked to look through a machine. It was like a psychedelic trip staring at black and white spinning circles. A red light mapped the surface of the cornea and measured it’s thickness. Next my flap was tested and marked. Finally I moved on to a comfy table and my left eye was taped shut. The numbing drops had taken affect and my right lids were taped open then clamped. I was instructed to look at a starburst of red light – the laser. I did not feel the flap lift but I knew it was off because everything went blurry. They talk you through the whole 13 seconds of zaps (you can smell flesh burning). The flap was resealed with a mini squeegee. Voila!
So far I am able to see very clear and my brain has adapted and quite likes the monocular effect. This will give me better distance, better closeup and intermediate computer vision. So far so good.
Oh one last thing… The TLC in Windsor was the first Lasik Centre built by Dr Marchat but alas it is closing it’s doors. I was the last patient. Any other possible followups will be done in London or Toronto.
