Tonight with the temperature being 32 degrees I made a quickie but yummy tuna melt that I call Del Atún. It got 2 thumbs up from Tom and Laura. This is by far an improvement from my famous tuna and potato chip casserole from the 70’s.
2 cans white solid tuna
2 tblsp. Mayo
2 tblsp. chopped up green olive
2 tbsp. diced celery
2 greenonions diced
Mix all ingredients together and place on 6 burger bun halves. Top with 2 strips of mozzerela cheese. Place under the broiler till the cheese melts. Serve with a nice Pinot Gris wine and garnish with Herdez salsa verte. Ole !

Working 9 til 5
Yeah, Jaclyn surprised us at her graduation with the announcement that she was offered a position as a junior designer at Ireland + Associates in downtown Toronto. She signed the contract on Wednesday. She has been doing her internship with this design firm for the month of June and they love her gifted spirit. She is working with some very talented designers and photographers in the publishing field. Way to go Jackie!
Humber College Convocation
On June 19th Mom, Dad, Auntie Eileen and malefriend Josh joined Jaclyn to applaud and celebrate her graduation from Humber College’s School of Media Studies with a diploma in Advertising and Graphic Design. Congratulations Jaclyn! Pictures can be found in Jaclyn’s Photo Album.
Lunar eclipse to thrill star-gazers
A blood-red orb will hang for nearly an hour in the skies over parts of central and eastern Canada on Thursday night as the planets align for a full lunar eclipse, the likes of which haven’t been visible here in more than three years.
At its peak Thursday night between 11:14 p.m. and 12:07 a.m. EDT, the eclipse will be most visible in the southeastern skies over central and eastern Canada. Sky watchers across most of the Americas, Europe and Africa should also be able to see some of it. ![]()

Especially for you,
Here’s a greeting that brings
A whole lot of wishes
For life’s nicest things–
A good share of small joys,
Some great big ones too—
Enough to make each day
Just perfect for you!

Happy 20th Birthday Kristen
Hope your day is happy
Filled with lots of cheer

Make a wish and dream it
I know it will come true
There’s no one who deserves it
Quite as much as you.
Love Auntie Martha and Uncle Tom
Happy New Year 2003
Happy New Year *cheers* everyone! The Gillier’s celebrated with a lobster and chicken finger dinner and pie- yum! We counted down the seconds with Dick Clarke, a cheese fondue, wearing kookie hats, popping balloons and blowing horns. There was very little smooching as we all had various cold strains. Laura had her friend Jennie over and they partied till the wee hours.
Jackie left to go back to Humber College an hour ago. It was nice having her home these past three weeks. We wish her much success with her new courses and intern placement.
We had our second snowfall Thursday leaving us with 12 cm of powder. Laura and the cats are having a good time making tracks around the farm. The fields and trees are so pretty.
Our First Lasting Snowfall of the Season
BBrrr… It was cold last night. The house is warm and toasty but I woke up to this beautiful hoar frost in the trees and snow-covered ground. It’s been a long time since we have had a white Christmas and I hope it stays white till at least then. I took a few snapshots before I left for work to share with you. Last Great Meteor Show for Decades Tonight
Set the alarm and get out your deck chair, your long johns, and your sleeping bag; tonight is the night for watching the sky’s own light show. The Leonid meteor showers occur every year in mid-November, but some years are far better than others. Astronomers say the next truly spectacular display after tonight won’t occur until 2098 or 2131.
Thanks Jaclyn for the heads up. I will make a wish for you!

Jackie off to College
This afternoon Tom and Jackie left for Toronto in the truck. They took the last load of stuff for her apartment including her computer, comfy chair and a load of groceries. Jackie left me a voicemail to say bye bye (I balled). Her bedroom looks so bare and I miss her already.
They had to carry each box one by one by elevator to the 11th floor as there was no trolley. Then off to explore the neighbourhood. They walked along West Bloor to a fine Irish pub for supper and a brew. Tom is at Bako’s for the night, to visit and deliver the vacation CD of over 600 digital pictures :>).
