Biked the Island

Today we had early morning swims and enjoyed the lovely morning poolside. After lunch we ventured out on the bikes they have here at the complex. We went to Bowditch Park at the most northern point. It is the protected habitat to the gopher tortoise. Knowing me I set out to find them. I found all kinds of burrows then as I was going along a path there was this terrible hiss. I thought for sure it was a rattler but it was the tortoise I was looking for. The boardwalk, sand, water, natural gardens and palm trees at this park were really pretty.

The rest of the afternoon was spent at Lynn Hall beach. Laura had fun making sand sculptures and I soaked up the sun and watched the pelicans diving for their supper. This evening we are going to go into Fort Myers to play mini golf. The sunset is a little different this evening. It is displaying the yellow and orange tones.

  1. I would suggest you buy lottery tickets. With the luck you had side-stepping the weather we are buried under, let your magic touch continue!
Glad to hear that you are enjoying your island life. We main-landers wish you all the best of this holiday season.
    Love John & Rosemary
