There is a new spa in Chatham called Radiance and Jackie arranged and treated me to a wonderful mother-daughter head to toe Spa Day. Neither of us had ever done anything like this before so we tried it all. It truely was a day of pampering!
It started with a facial which was the ultimate face washing experience. It included deep cleansing, skin analysis and exfoliation, face and neck massage and a relaxing mask and rehydration. The oils and creams all smelled so nice! I loved the hot towels and the cozy warm treatment table and soft sheets. Next was a 30 min. aromatherapy therapeutic and relaxation massage using Swedish massage techniques that focused on soft tissue and joints. I chose lavender scent and Jackie picked rosemary. It was very relaxing and uplifting. Next we treated our feet with an ultimate pedicure. It sure re energized my tired feet. They put our feet into a foot hot tub, rubbed, scrubbed, filed, rasped, snipped and rubbed again. They then plastered each foot with blue Moroccan body clay, wrapped in Saran wrap and then again in hot towels to sit for 15 minutes sipping lemon water. Ahhhhh. Lastly the feet were washed, dried, creamed and then polish applied with an artistic design on the big toes. I picked a soft raspberry polish and Jackie picked a frosted blueberry colour. Now for the manicure…alas I still bite my fingernails so it was a no go on my nails but Jackie had the full hand, arm and finger massage along with paraffin wax treatment. Her finger polish matched her toes. I opted instead for a Brazilian facial ( waxed the hair on my upper lip) and had my make-up applied. All in all we were there from 8:45 am till 1:30pm. Oh did I mention we were served a lovely spa snack of crackers and cheese with red grapes and Chi tea. Today was definitely a de-stressing body treatment for both of us and we will definitely do it again!
What a fantastic gift! I have been to this new spa just recently for the pedicure treatment and it really is awesome. I plan to enjoy many more ‘mommy moments’ there whenever I can
Martha, what a fun way to spend time with Jackie. You two really sound like you had the royal treatment. Very loving for Jackie to arrange this day. Thanks for sharing your experience, I loved reading about it.
