This morning we woke up and went to the Gulfshore Grill to have breakfast with Mernah and Ron (the people who rented us their FMB timeshare for Xmas 2004). We all had a nice leisurely breakfast watching the action from our beach front table while sharing stories of things to do and places to rent in the area.

After breakfast Martha was drawn to the crowds at Town Square while I went back to our place for a swim and a promise to meet her again at 2pm for drinks at the SOB.

Martha: Today was our best day yet for weather – sunny and HOT! It brought throngs of people to the beach so I walked down to Time Square to see if I might bump into Jill. Unfortunately we never did meet up. There were so many people there, not even a patch of sand to lay your towel. I headed to the pier to see what everyone was catching. Sharks have been spotted in the area and earlier they were catching hammerhead sharks yikes. Today they were hauling in snook and mackerel. The pelicans were very friendly and acted just like puppy dogs following the fishermen around. A little too close for my liking.

I headed down the beach to see if I could find the Cincinnati Firefighter, beach house Mernah had told me about. It was easy to spot as there were crowds with their beach chairs all facing a house with a big American Flag. There were about 15 well buffed firemen in speedo thongs and chaps handing out Mardi Gras beads to the girls on the beach. If you got beads it was your invitation pass to go swim in their homemade beach pool and get front row seats. The firefighters danced, sang and put on a very entertaining musical review. I know I had a permanent smile on my face!
 
 

 
When Tom found me at the SOB I was chatting up the Budweiser girl. She was sweet and gave us free beer for the afternoon. Nice!
