Gateway to the Keys

Today we drove down the east coast of Florida from St Augustine to Florida City. What a long state Florida is. It seemed like we were driving all day and it was only 6hrs. Fort Lauderdale and Miami had lots of traffic and just looked like big cities so we were glad we bypassed them. The sun shone for the better part of the day but we did see a few sprinkles around Jupiter.

We are staying at the Best Western in Florida City. The sun is shining and the temp is 22 C… perfect! We walked to a local seafood house called Captain’s and enjoyed a starter of a doz raw oysters, lobster bisque soup and split an order of very spicy jambalaya. I had my first glass of sweet tea and found it to be like what we call iced tea-very refreshing.

  1. aah! 22 degrees sounds wonderful. You have definitely said goodbye to winters sub zero temps.
