WebLog Server NOW working… ?

[EDIT 5/3/02] All is now working :)
A few false starts, but our server is now fixed (I hope!) For some reason the html site and the FTP didn’t agree on my virtual server site#’s so they [turningweb.com] rebuilt everything from scratch with a new# and used their last backup (May30th) I did have a few things saved from this mornings small window of opportunity and restored what I could. Apologies to the authors of some lost comments. Squirrel mail is yet to be fixed.

Got Your McD Reunion Invite?

postcard (14k image)
[T.G.] Wow this postcard is a “blast from the past”. Soosi has done a wonderful job on the whole Invitation package. I know how much work it can be to get everything to look just right.
[M.G.] Yesterday we received our official invitation for the 2002 McDonald Reunion and Auntie Teenies’s 80th Birthday Bash. What a nice package containing an agenda, map, postcard and RSVP. We are there! Everything is a go! Our Doc Morgan’s “garden suite” is booked Aug 13 til 20th. We have Tango Air tickets arriving the 13th and departing the 23rd. That will give us a few extra days to go over to Victoria and see Auntie Eunice and venture up the inland coast. It will be Tom, Laura and Martha going. Jackie has opted not to go and save her hard earned summer $$$ for college. Ian are you still going to bring your Karaoke machine? I can hardly wait!
[T.G.] Karaoke… Oh NO!!!!!!

Lucky Has Passed On…

Mom’s old cat “Lucky” passed on last night in her 21st yr. She hadn’t been her old self for the last 2 days. She slept more than usual, slow deep breathing, and the spark just wasn’t in her eyes. She appeared to be in no pain so we just kept her comfortable and let nature take her course.

Cenozoic Park: Cloning the Tasmanian Tiger

The Australian Museum reports a breakthrough in their plans to clone the Tasmanian Tiger. The “tiger”, actually a carnivorous marsupial, became extinct in 1936, when the last known specimen died in captivity. Er, did I say “extinct”? Now it looks like what everyone thought was an extinction may be “a 70-year hiccup”, to quote the press release. The museum’s Evolutionary Biology Unit have successfully replicated individual Tasmanian Tiger genes using a process known as PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction).

Some KY Trip events…

Well I finally finished my corn planting on Wedn night and we attempted to leave at 9pm. [One day late] The car is packed, everything is set, turn the key and… click, click, click. The battery is dead. I had the car to the dealer the week before and said the battery wouldn’t hold a charge correctly. They claimed “just charge it for 2 days, it tests out fine”. !%*#!#! I jump boost the car and off we drive hoping it doesn’t stall out on-route. We stopped around 1:30am at a hotel. Get up next morning, battery dead, call GM dealer down the road.
