Key Colony Beach

IMG_6025.jpgYeah… we are here. The house is amazing — big, comfy, everything anyone would need! We got here around noon. Check in was not suppose to be until 4pm but the house was unlocked, instructions and keys in the kitchen so we moved on in.

The bike traveled well and Tom unloaded it in a flash. After unpacking the car we went on the motorcycle to Sparky’s Landing for raw oysters and fish tacos (delicious) for lunch. Then back to the house to get our bearings, test out the beds, lay in the sunshine and make out a grocery list. It is 5pm and we are going out for happy hour. 25 cent wings and 25 cent shrimp and 1 dollar drafts. Life is Good!

Testing Some New Software

wplogo I’ve been playing around with some new blog scripts and thought I give this one a test drive. Let me know what you think. I still have to come up with a user friendly photo album script that most of you can operate and a few other perks.

NAC Data Centre’s Move is Now Complete

The physical move that was estimated to take 4-6 hrs turned into 15 hours. Everyone’s email and website should finally be back online and working properly. If you are experiencing any site or email problems, please let me know as soon as possible.

Website Demonstration a Success

The Chatham-Kent Firefighters Association chose last night as the official launch date for their membership’s website. They wanted a live demonstration at city hall’s council chambers, to demonstrate the workings and features of their new website I made and host for them. I was told “all the equipment would be provided and all I had to do was show the guys how to use the forum and gallery… very casual laid back atmosphere, don’t worry”.

Blog template completed

I’ve finished all the template changes I wanted done to our new blog. If you are experiencing any readability or usability problems, please let me know so I can correct them. If you have pop up blocking enabled (via third party software), you might have to add “4tg.ca” to your white list so you can see the comment form. I promise you’ll never see popup ads originating from our families’ site.

There was some concern about losing the “click for smilie” option we enjoyed with the old forum script. I don’t like the current smilie script hacks available for MovableType so for the time being, you’ll have to use the sidebar link that pops up the cut/paste codes for smilies.

F.Y.I. our currently featured icon in our title bars is… a picture of Rosemary and Catherine using the loaner car this past summer. Big Grin

I’m Glad You Found Your Way

Welcome to our new software location for our blog. For the time being I’m going to leave the default template (look) as is until I get all the bugs worked out. Don’t be surprised if things work a little strange until I get this software modified to my liking. In the mean time post away and don’t forget to update your bookmark.

We’re moving…

Not Martha and I… just our web hosting computer. I’m upgrading to a larger reseller package, but remaining with the same great hosting company. I was running out of server room because I picked up a few more clients that require web hosting. You may see a few moving hiccups for the domain 4tg.ca (web and email), but the others should move transparently. I’m keeping my fingers crossed.
[EDIT Dec 6th] DONE!There were a few hiccups but all seems to be working now. I hate server moves!

Photo Album Upgraded

The software to the photo album has been changed/upgraded to protect against a recently discovered security hole. If anyone has trouble using (uploading to) the album please let me know. You might notice minor changes in the photo album layout plus everyone’s admin privileges, only apply for albums in your folder. Most recent thumbnails reduced to only 5 to reduce load time for this page.
