Give Thanks

enlarge thanksgiving prime rib roastHappy Thanksgiving Day everyone. Today we celebrated by bbqing this honking big Prime rib roast. The weather was magnificent so we cooked and sat down to eat in the late afternoon. It was so nice out that we could have actually eaten outside but I chose to set up at the dining room table. We surrounded ourselves with harvest vegetables and enjoyed the picture perfect roast. The mandatory pumpkin pie followed and now it is off to hockey practise for the boys. Sea of Red and White greets Canada Day Parade!

canada day paradeOn Canada Day Laura and I went to Tecumseh Park to have lunch, take in the entertainment and watch the dragon boat races. We dawned our official red and white colours and lined our lawn chairs along King Street at Kornackers. Lots of teacher friends gathered there as well to enjoy the Canada Day Parade. The parade began at the Courthouse on Grand Ave., and continued down Lacroix and King Streets to Tecumseh Park. The parade featured local celebrities, including Fergie Jenkins, Diane Gagner, Dave Vankesteren and Pat Hoy. The curbside kids young and old seemed to enjoy the EZE Riders, who squirted water at them as they drove past. Continue reading
