Today Tom, Laura and I headed to Windsor to check out Laura’s new home…
the St. Clair College Campus and Residence. We have passed by many times but this was our first time looking around. It was nice to explore the halls and classrooms without the throngs of people. We even got a personal tour of the dorm suites. Tom enjoyed the wireless high speed as he tested out Laura’s laptop and downloaded a few podcasts.

The campus is laid out very nicely with wide halls lots of natural light and lots of comfy gathering spots. It has three floors and the various wings house the specific disciplines. We saw the library, the dental labs and the classrooms with the tiered seating.

There are quite a few restaurants and pubs on campus including the Chez Talbot restaurant and a Tim Horton’s. By checking out the bulletin boards we read there are many events planned the first week for the students. These include BBQs, theme nights and special mixers to get students acquainted. Laura is going to have a blast!

The residence is right across the parking lot from the campus. The building is only a few years old and the place looks well equipped. The dorms are two bedroom suites including a kitchen and bathroom. It is equipped with double bed, desk, chair, tv, telephone, dresser, microwave, kitchen table and full size fridge. Thursday is orientation and moving in day will be on Sunday. It will all be very emotional! I know it will be for me! Enjoy your last week at home Laura!
