A Day at the Beach

What a lovely day we had today. By 10 am you could definitely feel the 83 degree F heat and high humidity, with not a cloud in the sky. We decided that instead of touring around we would spend Eileen’s last day in KCB enjoying the sand and the surf.

The Sea Isle has one of the nicest groomed beaches with lots of white sand. The water temp was about the same as the air temp and it did not take us long to get wet. It was so much fun swimming and bobbing in the waves. The complex has lots of chaise lounge chairs to lay on and there is a cute tiki hut to get in out of the sun.

After a time in the Atlantic Ocean we headed to the swimming pool which Eileen called the “Hippo Pool”. We met some really nice resident locals and got a few scoops of things to see and do in the Keys.

At 4 o’clock it was time for showers and make plans for dinner. It was a unanimous vote for Sparkies Landing and we headed over there for “Happy Hour”. What a nice way to celebrate Valentine’s Day and Eileen’s last night in the Keys. I had a lovely meal of fish tacos and both Eileen and Tom had medium rare prime rib and baked potato. It was the first time in a month that we have eaten beef and it tasted so good. By 6:30 the sun was setting and Eileen and I headed to Sunset Park to catch the last rays of what has been a lovely vacation and week with Eileen.

  1. Thank you Martha and Tom for sharing your little bit of Paradise with me. It is a vacation that I will truly never forget. I got home safe and sound and it was a smooth flight. Nick and Brian met me at the airport with a big bouquet of flowers. Enjoy the remainder of the month in peace and quite. I love you guys, Eileen

  2. Glad to hear everything was “swimmingly delicious”
What a great spot…it has been fun to share your vacation vicariously via the internet. One day in person would be a nice way also.
