School outlaws tag. Bleeding Heart Liberals win again?

Original Story The principal of Franklin Elementary School in Santa Monica CA became “it” when she banned the children’s game of tag–for reasons that included issues of self-esteem–from the playground late last month.
To critics, Samarge [the principal] is the latest example of political correctness run even more amok than usual in a city sometimes referred to as “The People’s Republic,” for its reputation of excessive governmental regulation and bleeding-heart attitudes.

Stolen bulldozer used to break into bar. Two bottles of liquor taken.

Original Story BALTIMORE — Police say there was a bizarre robbery case in Essex, Md., involving a stolen bulldozer and two bottles of liquor.
Neighbors who live across the street from the Hot Spot Bar And Grill can’t believe they didn’t hear the bulldozer rumbling down E. Homberg St. around 3 a.m. Wednesday morning. Police say thieves stole the vehicle from Liberty Oil, drove it across Route 702, down E. Homberg and slammed it into the back of the building.
Bar owner Ron Krause said the only thing he found missing was two liquor bottles.

Jaclyn’s Toronto Apartment

Jaclyn will have a new home when she returns to the Humber College Lakeshore campus in the fall. In the early spring, Eileen took Jackie, Jason and Ben who will share rent $$$, apartment hunting. The kids fell in love with the High Park area of Toronto and were lucky enough to find a lovely 3 bedroom apt. just off of Dundas St. It is on the 16th floor, in a complex of apartment towers with an indoor swimming pool, fitness complex, tennis courts and $45 a month underground parking. It is a safe area, just up from the park, close to coffee shops, bookstores, boutiques, bakeries and bistros. It is right on a subway line with a bus connection at Kipling – south to Lakeshore and north to main campus. They take possession July 1st.

A Visitor From The West

On June 2 Uncle Ted made a stop over in Toronto to visit his two favourite nieces. He was venturing off to Vilnius, the capital city of Lithuania and then across the Baltic Sea to Finland. Uncle Ted has an interest in this part of the world. Lithuania once was a great empire. Many historians believe that the Lithuanians and Greeks are descended from the same early Aryans. Today it is a small land of farms, forests and lakes. Its people have strong national traditions and a rich culture. Their language is the oldest living tongue in Europe.
We took Uncle Ted out for supper to a Barracuda?s and shared many stories. On Monday, Eileen and I took him to Oakville to stroll the historical streets, sit on a bench overlooking Lake Ontario and enjoy lunch and a cup of tea together. I was nice seeing him again.

After sitting behind computers and networking with friends for the past months, the third annual CorvetteForum.com Cruise-In gave the dot-coms a chance to meet one another and party down. “The parking lot of the Baymont Inn is two inches higher,” Dominic Sorresso pointed out as Forum members congregated for BS sessions.

Jaclyn’s “G” licence test

Oh crap! Jaclyn comes home today from trying her final “G” driving test with a look of disappointment. She drops the yellow test papers down on the table and goes up to her room. I couldn’t believe all the little “tick” marks. I stopped counting after forty. No full stop, over the line, no blind spot checks, speeding in residential zone, dangerous actions, traffic law violations, no signals, driving too slow. :( Jeez what a waste… $75 down the drain and we have to pay again for each test she takes, until she passes. If you don’t complete everything within 5yrs from getting your learners permit, you get to start from scratch again.
