Howdy

Happy Stampede Calgary cousins!
This morning I woke up to watch the Stampede Parade. It was a great parade with all the beautiful horses, floats and bands. I even saw the marching band from Bishop Grandin H.S. I think I will cook a pancake breakfast for Tom and Laura.

No Broadband Internet for You

The installation people from Airnet just left and announced there is no way we can have broadband internet at this time. Airnet is constructing a wireless network for the whole Chatham-Kent area and we cannot connect to their Chatham tower because it is obstructed by the neighbours woodlot. No way to go around it or over it and this broadband internet service requires a direct line of sight to the tower. Crying

Copper Terrace Renovations

This weekend officially marked the opened of the new wing at Copper Terrace. Irene has been watching the comings and goings of the workmen and renovations to the building all winter long. She took me on a grand tour of the new dining rooms, front door, foyer, kitchen and elevator. The entry code to push is 1990 and the elevator floor is 2R. It is a welcomed addition! There will no longer be the parking lot of wheelchairs waiting for elevators. The old dining room will be used as an activity and entertainment room.

Baby Shower

On Sunday Laura and I went to a lovely baby shower for Karyn Bernard (Roesch). She is due on the 28th of July. She looked radient if you can say that about a pregnant woman.

Schools Out For Summer

Yeah ! School is officially out for summer for everyone. For Laura, Steve, Peter and Brian that means 11 weeks vacation and 10 1/2 for Martha :>)

We started off with both getting summer hair cuts (mine dyed and foiled and Laura trimmed and bangs sculptured), Shopping at the mall and going out for lunch. Ahhh what a life.

Tom is out in the fields but very happy to have both his girls home and plans are in the making for me to RELAX.

Happy Father’s Day

I hope all the Dad’s out there had a wonderful day. We spent the day at the baseball diamond. Peter’s team got eliminated in the semi’s against the provinclial winning team (Guelph). I came home to cook and chop to prepare for the dinner. We ended up eating in the dining room as the evening cooled off pretty quickly. I did a honking boneless pork tenderloin roast , stuffed with prunes and apricots on the bbq. It was yummy and right up there with gourmet. Nick got showered with gifts. The boys had fun playing with his new toy, a paper shredder.
