Chrysler Unveils 850 HP V-12 Supercar at Detroit Auto Show

me4 me4Chrysler ME Four-Twelve
The AMG-developed all-aluminum 6.0-liter V12 engine produces 850 horsepower and 850 lb-ft of torque, and the car has a curb weight of only 2,880 pounds. Power get transferred to the wheels via a 7-speed transmission using the latest double wet-clutch technology and electronic controls. The transmission delivers uninterrupted torque to the rear wheels, shifting between gears in 200 milliseconds.

The ME Four-Twelve is intended to set new performance standards for a mid-engine rear-wheel-drive sports car. Chrysler expects the ME Four-Twelve to set new performance standards for a rear-wheel-drive mid-engine sports car: a top speed of 248 mph (400 kph), accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds and from zero to 100 mph in 6.2 seconds. Believe me, that’s STINKIN’ FAST! It’ll pass everything but a gas pump. Eek!

[EDITED 1/16/04] For a few other 2004 NAIAS pictures we took in Detroit on January 15th, see the autoshow photo album.

Blog template completed

I’ve finished all the template changes I wanted done to our new blog. If you are experiencing any readability or usability problems, please let me know so I can correct them. If you have pop up blocking enabled (via third party software), you might have to add “4tg.ca” to your white list so you can see the comment form. I promise you’ll never see popup ads originating from our families’ site.

There was some concern about losing the “click for smilie” option we enjoyed with the old forum script. I don’t like the current smilie script hacks available for MovableType so for the time being, you’ll have to use the sidebar link that pops up the cut/paste codes for smilies.

F.Y.I. our currently featured icon in our title bars is… a picture of Rosemary and Catherine using the loaner car this past summer. Big Grin

I’m Glad You Found Your Way

Welcome to our new software location for our blog. For the time being I’m going to leave the default template (look) as is until I get all the bugs worked out. Don’t be surprised if things work a little strange until I get this software modified to my liking. In the mean time post away and don’t forget to update your bookmark.

Jaclyn gets creamed by Windstar mini-van

smashed windshieldcrying Jaclyn got hit by a mini-van on Thursday night while dashing across the street to catch a street car connection. She was on her way home from dropping off a project at 11pm and tried to get to the stop before it left. BAM! She goes flying about 6 feet in the air and hits the pavement skidding. The minivan gets the front end smashed up, the windshield broke in, and Jaclyn’s on the ground wondering what happened.

Santa Day Parade

thumb_IMG_1235 (3k image)Laura and her friend Jenny left this morning to be in Chatham’s Christmas Day Parade. They helped the local letter carriers union hand out candy and collected children’s letters to Santa as the parade wound it’s way through the downtown route. Tonight called for a girls sleep over and gingerbread crafts.

We’re moving…

Not Martha and I… just our web hosting computer. I’m upgrading to a larger reseller package, but remaining with the same great hosting company. I was running out of server room because I picked up a few more clients that require web hosting. You may see a few moving hiccups for the domain 4tg.ca (web and email), but the others should move transparently. I’m keeping my fingers crossed.
[EDIT Dec 6th] DONE!There were a few hiccups but all seems to be working now. I hate server moves!

Landscaping Project Halted until Spring

Due to the ground being frozen solid every morning, I told the landscaper to call it quits for this year. We had a good run, but it would just be a waste of money and time to continue this late in the season. Hopefully the basement windows will come in before Christmas and we can get those installed before it gets too cold to work outside.

Report Card Crunch

It’s report card crunch again and this year Martha was forced to change to a different report card program. The new program has a very steep learning curve, but it’s claimed to be so much better. She just doesn’t have time to learn all the advanced functions (recently released to the teachers). No in house training provided, just instructions to the teachers to get comfortable with it. It was so much faster for her (ages ago) when they wrote report cards out in long-hand.

Landscaping Update

The retaining walls are up and can now be back-filled with soil. The bubbling rock is installed and working but I feel the water flow is not strong enough so I’m picking up a Binford 3000 pump this afternoon (old Tim Allen – Home Improvement joke) I’m still waiting on the electrician to install the hydro outlets outside. Feel free to keep checking the photo album for up to the minute pictures.
