The CNN just did a feature on the cold snap hitting Florida. Frozen Strawberries being harvested. What about the lemons and key Limes down your way in Key Colony Beach, Fla.? Mind you frozen strawberry margaritas sound mighty inviting.

Sunny and Blue sky
It was so nice yesterday that I thought that I would go out and sit in the sun, read my book and sip a cup of coffee. One problem! The snow was piled up and I quickly retreated back inside. Here are a few sights around our place this beautiful spring March day. photo album link
Edit Tom: I also noticed that Angela Royalty-McCoun has uploaded some recent snow pictures from Ohio to share.

Getting to look a lot like Winter
This morning we woke up to giggles and cheers of ‘Look at all the snow’! We are experiencing our first snowfall and accumulation for the season. By the looks of the road the snow plough has not made it down our way yet and we will have to search our garage for the snow shovel. With lots of things to do this busy time of year, I think we will stay put and fill our house with the smell of mmm baked cookies. More pictures after the jump. Continue reading
Happy Easter ’07
I hope that everyone has a wonderful Easter Holiday. Can you believe the cold weather that is expected for the weekend! That Calgary snow is coming out east and our spring flowers are shuddering at the thought. I have been going to the gym and watching my diet in preparation for the big chocolate fest. I stepped on the scales this morning and I gained a few…go figure!

Winter a’Last
Well, well, well… The leaves are gone and the temperature has dropped. Finally Winter has come! Flurries occur here almost everyday and I can hardly sit still in my seat at school! I am waiting for the big snowfall to happen. My favourite season of the year has come! I can hardly wait to hit those trail up North. I have my first race next week. Wish me luck! Just think of it, I will be going from a winter wonderland to a tropical paradise in under a week!
Tundra Swan Migration
Lucas and I were sitting out on the back deck enjoying the arrival of dusk when we were treated to the trumpeting of approaching swans. They sounded low and close but we couldn’t see them for the cedar trees surrounding the back yard. A whole calliope of honking swans seemed to be right on top of us when suddenly they seemed to hush when they skimmed overhead. The wings all beating in unison and this strange sound of them slicing through the air. It sounded like the whirling of a bicycle race whizzing by your side and I sensed that slight tug of air. I couldn’t believe how close they flew and by the time the seventh or eighth flock flew directly overhead, it finally dawned on me to go grab a camera. Continue reading
